Apparel Incubation Centre will boost providing employment and result in economic growth, said Pradeep Bal Samanta, Minister Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts. Apparel Incubation Centre is promoted by Department of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts and Ministry of Textiles.
Inaugurating the Centre, Shri Bal Samanta, Minister said, “Besides providing employment to unemployed youth, it will create a new chapter in the field of garment manufacturing which will result in economic growth.
Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts said that the Apparel Incubation Centre has a lot of potential for the textile industry.
The young entrepreneurs at the initial stage have been provided with the necessary resources, infrastructure, sewing machines for garment production, packaging machines, etc. with plug-and-play system.
Three entrepreneurs – Mukesh Kumar Nayak (Kendrapara), Vinay Munda (Rairangpur) and Biswajit Kiro (Sundargarh) – have got permission for the 45,000-square-foot plant to manufacture garments. It will provide employment to 600 people.
The Apparel Incubation Centre is going to be a transformative hub for innovation and business development, which will nurture entrepreneurs and enhance the rich handloom and textile heritage of our State.
Special Secretary, Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts, Madhumita Rath, Director Handicrafts and Boyanika Managing Director, Pranati Chotaray, and other senior officers were present.
