Himatsingka America has added a big name to a roster of brands. With its acquisition of Li & Fung’s GBG (Global Brands Group) this past May, the Tommy Hilfiger Home programme expands the Himatsingka stable, which also includes Calvin Klein Home and Kate Spade Home.
“Himatsingka America has given Tommy Hilfiger its own dedicated showroom.” Himatsingka holds the Hilfiger licenses for all major soft home categories as well as some hard home classifications. “This step is in line with our strategy to augment our brand portfolio and will aid our efforts in enhancing market share in the branded home textile space,” said Shrikant Himatsingka, Managing Director and Group CEO, Himatsingka Group.
Himatsingka has given Tommy Hilfiger Home a dedicated showroom space at 261 Fifth Ave., which also houses the company’s main showroom and other designer showrooms. During New York Home Fashions Market, the presentation is concentrated on bedding, bath and basic bedding, with some window.
David Greenstein, CEO of Himatsingka America, noted adding Hilfiger also expands the company’s relationship with PVH Corp., which owns the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands. “We’re impressed with how PVH runs their brands,” he said, noting the Tommy Hilfiger division has a strong marketing programme. “The investments they’re making to promote and grow the brand are beneficial to us”.
