Textile finishing specialist Noble Biomaterials has partnered with homeware provider Silvon Home to embed its antimicrobial technology, Ionic+, in beds, baths and mask products. Ionic+ uses silver ions to inhibit the growth of microbes and odour-causing bacteria on fabric. By maintaining freshness, treated products can be used for longer and laundered less frequently.

“The problem with fabrics in the bedroom and in the bathroom is that they collect a lot of bacteria from moisture but present it back the very next time it’s used,” said Alex Szpakowski, Silvon’s Co-Founder.
“Ionic+ addresses this problem and delivers a safe, natural, and chemical-free solution to fighting and eliminating bacteria build-up, and we’re thrilled to partner with Noble Biomaterials to provide this solution to consumers.”

The antimicrobial textile treatment is permanently embedded in textile fibres to offer durability and high performance. Noble launched its Ionic+ Durable solution earlier this year, a self-cleaning, silver-based treatment that is similarly effective against pathogens.

The company’s finishes are typically used in apparel, namely in the outdoor and athleisure markets due to the requirement for lasting freshness. Silvon’s offering of treated home décor, bed and bath products have now been made available via the company’s website.
