The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council of India (TEXPROCIL) has awarded a gold trophy for fine cotton yarn exports for 2020-21 to Premier Group of Companies. This is recognition of the group being the largest exporter of fine cotton yarn from India. The continuous support of overseas buyers has played a vital role in obtaining the trophy this year.
The Premier group has won 41 export awards over the last 33 years and this shows consistency in being the highest exporter of fine cotton yarn from India over a significant period. One of the companies in the group is India’s only 100 percent export oriented spinning mill.
“In today’s extremely competitive and challenging international textile environment, we continue to focus on advanced practices in our manufacturing process with the help of new machineries, designing our product to meet customers specific requirements, enhanced standards, on-time delivery and after sales service. Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to us. In this effort, the feedback from our customers continues to be the single most important factor and no opinion or suggestion is too small for us to pay attention to. We have continued our focus on sustainability and environmental awareness. The entire energy requirement for our spinning mills is now generated from eco-friendly wind energy,” Dr KV Srinivasan, Managing Director, Premier Mills Pvt Ltd, said in a statement.
This year one of the group companies – Lakshmi Narasimha Textiles has won the gold trophy for special achievement in cotton yarn. This is an open end spinning mill which converts 100 percent cotton waste into yarn and the entire energy for this mill is supplied from windmills. The company, therefore, produces a recycled cotton yarn which is from 100 percent sustainable raw material and using 100 percent green energy. By converting waste cotton into yarn using green energy, the group contributes significantly to an eco-friendly environment. These open end yarns are sold to customers in Asia, Africa and Europe for making gloves, fleece knitted fabrics, towels, handloom products and home textiles.
“We continue to increase our focus and commitment in the production of high quality combed cotton yarns. We offer a larger variety of fine cotton yarns from Ne 30s to Ne 240s in single, 2 ply, and compact and gassed yarns, spun from the finest Extra Long Staple cotton sourced from across the world. We also offer super fine yarn counts from Ne 140/2 upto Ne 240/2 grey and gassed compact yarns made out of Suvin Extra Long Staple cotton. This is a rare and exotic cotton originally derived from Sea Island Cotton,” added Srinivasan.
