Indo Count Industries Ltd., a leading manufacturer and exporter of Home Textiles, has been internationally recognized for its proactive measures and coordinated action on climate issues by CDP (Formerly Carbon Disclosure Project). CDP is a renowned international organisation that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies etc. to manage their environmental impacts. Indo Count achieved a ‘B’ score which is in the management band (taking co-ordinated actions on climate issues) garnering a score higher than the average ‘B-‘for companies across Asia as well as the globe. It is also far ahead of other companies in the textiles & fabric goods domain, that had an average score of ‘C’.

This initiative covers metrics such as value chain engagement, emission reduction initiatives, risk management processes, governance, business strategy and financial planning etc., disclosing its contribution, initiatives & improvements in the ‘Climate Change’ module at CDP. The module aims to make environmental reporting & risk management a business norm, driving disclosure, insight & action towards a sustainable economy.

Indo Count has, over the years, created a sustainable value chain undertaking various initiatives that support energy and water conservation, sustainable farming, and climate protection among others. In collaboration with Walmart, the company has also contributed towards Project Gigaton for reducing GHG emissions. It has been felicitated with the title ‘Giga Guru’ for three consecutive years. Indo Count has also been recognized as a top performer in the most recent Walmart Global Sourcing Sustainability Summit. Project GAGAN – a sustainable cotton initiative by the company helps farmers to cultivate sustainable cotton through Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).
