Textile printing specialist Kornit Digital has announced that Italian printing service provider Creazioni Digitali has invested in and installed its Kornit Presto S with softener solution. Creazioni’s acquisition of the technology aligns with its aspirations of shifting to pigment-based production by 2025, which it says will be “key to their expansion and industrial plans”.

The Italian firm is cited as the first in its field to provide pigment printing to Italian textile manufacturers and fashion labels. The type of technology is touted as having impressive sustainability benefits, such as reduced water usage.

“We believe eco-friendly, pigment-based printing offers a wealth of possibilities for high fashion, and selected the Kornit Presto S based on its ability to deliver brilliant, high-quality imagery using the broadest colour gamut, without need for pre- and post-treatments,” said Roberto Lucini, Owner and CEO of Creazioni Digitali.

“We intend to grow our business as brands see what this technology can do, with the old calculations of quality versus responsible production practices giving way to a new landscape in which you can truly have both. This installation is one of more to come.”

NeoPigment Robusto inks come as standard with the Presto, which is said to provide faster physical and chemical bonding characteristics, allowing for a shorter curing time, while ensuring quality and a wide colour gamut. The ink is also Eco Passport and GOTS V5 approved.

The Kornit Presto is available in multiple configurations and able to print 450 square metres per hour.
Kornit’s Chris Govier added: “Regardless of the fabric involved, the products they’ll be empowered to offer will look outstanding, feel right, and maintain their character, while buyers can rest assured they meet the highest possible standards for safety and sustainability.”
