Union Minister of Textiles Shri Giriraj Singh today inaugurated Bharat Tex 2026, India’s largest global textile and apparel event, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The four-day event, being held from 14–17 July 2026, is organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils and industry bodies, with the support of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Union Minister of State for Textiles Shri Pabitra Margherita, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Smt. Neelam Shami Rao, senior government officials, representatives from State Governments, industry leaders, international delegates and global buyers.
Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 5F philosophy—Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign— Bharat Tex 2026 has emerged as India’s premier global textile platform, bringing together the complete textile value chain while promoting business, investment, innovation, sustainability and international partnerships.
Welcoming the inauguration of Bharat Tex 2026, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), said the event reflects India’s growing stature as a preferred and trusted sourcing destination for the global apparel and textile industry.

“Bharat Tex has become a defining global platform that showcases the strength, diversity and competitiveness of India’s textile and apparel sector. It reflects the country’s integrated value chain, world-class manufacturing capabilities, skilled workforce and commitment to sustainability. The event offers an unmatched opportunity for Indian exporters to engage with international buyers, expand market access and build long-term business partnerships,” said Dr. Sakthivel.
Highlighting the significance of the event for the apparel sector, he said:
“India’s apparel industry is witnessing growing global confidence owing to its quality, compliance, innovation and expanding network of Free Trade Agreements. Bharat Tex 2026 provides the ideal platform to translate these advantages into enhanced exports, investments and deeper integration with global value chains. It also opens new opportunities for MSMEs, manufacturers and exporters to showcase their capabilities before the world.”
Spread across nearly 1.6 million square feet, Bharat Tex 2026 features participation from over 1,600 exhibitors, 7,000+ international buyers, and 64,000 registered trade visitors, showcasing more than 20,000 textile products covering fibre, yarn, fabrics, apparel, fashion, home textiles, technical textiles and allied industries.
The event is expected to feature more than 100 knowledge sessions, including panel discussions, roundtables and masterclasses, with participation from over 350 speakers representing more than 20 countries. The sessions will focus on key themes such as global trade, sustainability, innovation, Industry 4.0, technical textiles, fashion and sourcing. The event is also expected to witness the signing of over 30 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) covering trade, technology, sustainability, investment and market access.

Government participation remains a major highlight, with eight partner States and several participating States showcasing their textile strengths and investment opportunities through dedicated State Investor Connect Sessions, including discussions on PM MITRA Parks and industrial infrastructure.
International participation has expanded significantly this year, with exhibitors from 14 countries and business delegations from the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Russia, South Africa, New Zealand, the UAE, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar and several other countries exploring sourcing, investment and strategic collaborations with Indian companies.
Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to further strengthen India’s position as a reliable, innovative and sustainable global sourcing destination while contributing significantly to export growth, employment generation and investment across the textile and apparel value chain.
