The Department of Fibres and Textile Processing Technology, ICT Mumbai, organised a free technical workshop on ‘Sustainable Textile Processing’ for MSME stakeholders in Solapur, Maharashtra, on 20th September 2025. The program focused on promoting eco-friendly practices and strengthening collaboration between ICT and the local textile industry.
Solapur, known for its rich heritage in Solapuri Chaddar and Hand Towel manufacturing, hosted industry technicians and owners who gained insights into water, energy, and time-saving sustainable textile technologies. The workshop highlighted the environmental and health impacts of conventional methods, demonstrated practical applications, and encouraged green practices for healthier workplaces.
Pulcra Chemicals India supported the initiative financially, while Nayak, CEO of Somani Evergreen, served as Chief Guest. Participants provided highly encouraging feedback, noting strengthened ICT–industry collaboration, increased awareness of eco-friendly dyeing techniques, and enhanced practical skills to implement sustainable processing in their operations.
