Germany imported home textiles worth $3.297 bn during the first half (H1) of 2022. China remained its top supplier with shipment valued at $910.958 mn (27.62 percent), even as its share declined by 38.30 percent from $1.475 bn in H1 2021. Turkiye, Poland, Netherlands and Pakistan were among the top five supplier countries.

Turkiye exported home textiles worth $353.726 mn to Germany in January-June 2022, amounting to 10.73 percent of the latter’s total imports, according to market report. Its supply increased by 14.23 percent year-on-year.

Poland shipped home textile products worth $295.758 mn that is 8.97 percent of Germany’s total imports. But the supply declined by 12.41 percent from $337.654 mn in H1 2021.

Germany’s imports of home textiles from Netherlands amounted to $289.741 mn in H1 this year which was 8.79 percent of its total imports. But it decreased by 31.13 percent from $420.699 mn in January-June 2021. Pakistan’s shipment of home textiles to the European country rose by 21.63 percent to $247.193 mn from $203.235 mn of H1 2021, as per market report.

In addition to these, Germany also imported home textiles from other countries. Its imports were valued at $195.616 mn (5.93 percent) from India; $132.584 mn (4.02 percent) from Czech Republic; $95.787 mn (2.90 percent) from Belgium; $72.632 mn (2.20 percent) from Austria; and $57,449 mn (1.74 percent) from Vietnam.
