Export Promotion Council for handicrafts has been constantly taking up the issues pertaining to the handicrafts sector with appropriate authorities. OP Prahladka, Chairman – EPCH said that one such issue, which was pursued was enhancing the limit for MEIS benefit for exports through courier or foreign post offices using e-commerce. The earlier limit of such export was rs. 25,000/- per consignment which has now been enhanced to rs. 5 lakhs per consignment for entitlement for rewards under MEIS Scheme.

With the enhancement of the limit, the handicrafts exporters who are doing business through e-commerce will be benefited and many more will be encouraged to follow them.
