The Trident Group will be showcasing bed linen manufactured with allergen protection developed by HeiQ at the Heimtextil trade fair, which is taking place January 10-13, 2023, in Frankfurt, Germany.

According to a press release issued by HeiQ, the Trident Group from Sanghera in the State of Punjab in north-western India has used HeiQ Allergen Tech, a textile technology developed by the company based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, in the production of its new “Jiva Hypoallergenic” range of bed linen.

According to information from the company, HeiQ Allergen Tech is 100 percent bio-based, can be added during the finishing stage of the textiles manufacturing process and helps to reduce inanimate allergens such as house dust mite matter and pet allergens. Several rounds of testing have demonstrated that HeiQ Allergen Tech is highly effective in reducing the levels of house dust mite matter (96.6%), allergens from dog hair (76.5%) and cat hair (83.6%). The technology was tested and certified by BMA Labor in the German city of Bochum, while it has also been awarded the Allergy UK Seal of Approval from the British Allergy Foundation.

“We are proud to work together with the first Indian partner to bring HeiQ Allergen Tech to bed linen, addressing a critical need to reduce allergens in home textiles”, comments Mike Mordente, Head of the Textiles Business Unit at HeiQ, in the press release.

The Trident Group, which exports its products to 150 countries, always strives to develop the best products with cutting-edge technology, according to Kamal Gaba, Managing Director (Bed Linen) at the Trident Group. The collaboration with HeiQ represents “another momentous milestone” in the company’s journey, he concludes.

HeiQ, a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH), is headquartered at the IJZ, an innovation and start-up hub located in Schlieren. The company is also a member of Start Smart Schlieren.
