Anurag Thakur, Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs visited the 48th edition of IHGF-Delhi Fair being held at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The other dignitaries present during his visit  included Sunit Jain, President Fair, Neetu Singh, Ravindra Miglani, Rajat Asthana, Vice Presidents of the fair, Sagar Mehta, Vice Chairman – EPCH, Rakesh Kumar, Director General –EPCH, members of the Committee of Administration, overseas buyers, press and media.

While visiting the fair, Anurag Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs got mesmerized to see the large handicrafts exporters showcasing wide varieties of handicrafts products under one roof and  said that Handicrafts Sector  has immense potential for creation of jobs and  ensure that Govt. of India  is with the exporters and urge  the exporting community to take one step and we will be taking four steps towards promotion of handicrafts sector as it is the largest employment providing sector in the Country.

Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs also said Government of India is working towards ensuring refund of GST and almost 92 percent of the GST refund to the exporters has been completed.  He further said that Govt. of India is coming up with RODTEP [ Remission of Duties or Taxes on export ] scheme for the exporters.

A MOU was also exchanged between EPCH and Vision Spring Organisation to provide affordable eye screening and eyewear to handicrafts artisans.  In the first phase, the excercise will be starting from Saharanpur said Rakesh Kumar, Director General – EPCH.

EPCH is a nodal agency for promoting exports of handicrafts from the Country to various destinations of the world and projecting India’s image abroad as reliable supplier of high quality of handicrafts goods & services.
