Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management (SVPITM) is organising a one-day national seminar on ‘The Role of Women in Upliftment of Textiles Industry’ on March 22, 2019. SVPITM, a unique institution which is constantly making strides in textiles, will showcase the role of women in upliftment of the Indian textile industry. The seminar is sponsored by National Commission for Women, set up as a statutory body in January, 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990.
“The seminar will be a dynamic platform to exhibit the stories of successful women in the textile domain of our nation. It will help to portray their immense contribution towards the growth of the Indian textile industry which has not been showcased in the limelight. It will also contribute to trace out the hidden opportunities available for women in textile industry. The deliberations of the seminar on this quintessential topic will also focus on the various government schemes and policies for encouraging the participation of women in the textile industry. The expected outcome of the seminar will be to demonstrate the vibrant role played by woman as an entrepreneur as well as an employee in the workforce,” SVPITM said. Eminent personalities from textiles namely entrepreneurs, research scientists, policy makers and professionals will be present at the seminar.
